They won't use meat broth if you tell them you are a vegetarian.

Spicy Squid Bibimbap - 9/10
Seafood Pancake - 7.5/10
Tofu Soup - 7/10
Bulgogi - 7/10
Came on a Friday night with some friends and was quickly seated. Service was kind and very much felt like a mom and pop operated restaurant vibe. The banchan was very yummy and had lots of variety! Will definitely be coming back for the spicy squid.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 11, 2024
If you're looking for a homey sit-down Korean restaurant, I highly recommend this place! I've been having a weird craving for spicy squid/octopus and luckily this place had just the right dish! I went with my friends and got the spicy octopus hot stone bibimbap which was so big so highly recommend coming here w/friends! The rice cakes were a little too soft for my liking but the sauce was . The seafood and green onion pancake was FAT! I personally didn't like how thicky it was but they definitely didn't skip out with the filling! Overall, the food was delicious and the portion size is huge so highly recommend this place if you're craving korean food w/sum good company
I recently tried the Bulgogi and Octopus Hot Pot! It was large and came with sooo much food! Wish it had a bit more meet though but lots of octopus!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 129168489Sep 9, 2023
This restaurant is truly an authentic Korean mama's cooking. The food is absolutely delicious.
Our kids love dining here.
The restaurant is clean and the staff are so nice and friendly. The service is great. We ate a variety of different dishes and can say there isn't anything we don't like. Definitely recommend this restaurant .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 2 - Oct 27, 2023
My kid and I had a craving for Don Katsu. So that is what we ordered and shared. It was very enjoyable. The side dishes worth very nice. I always appreciate when the Ban Chan includes fish cakes and some sort of potato salad. Their potato salad was very tasty and unique. One of their sites was.Opa vegetable. Which I really like, and was surprised to see. The ambience is nice.

The workers here are very nice, service was pretty fast despite the full store. It was our first time in here and we were not disappointed! There were a lot of different side dishes that we don't normally see so it was nice trying new things! Overall, good experience and would come back in the future.
Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Scallion Pancake) - The portion was huge! The pancake was crispy, savoury, and full of seafood mixed in. Probably favorite dish of the night.
Stir Fried Rice Cake - We were expecting a fried dish but it was more or less just regular tteokbokki. The rice cakes were cooked perfectly but the sauce is a little on the sweeter side, half of us liked it while the other half didn't.
Bossam - Portions were a lot smaller than we thought. There was only enough for each person to get one wrap. The pork was good but most likely won't get again.
Octopus Dolsot Bimbimbap - Sooo delicious and flavorful! Portions were large and generous. It was also not too spicy so everyone was able to eat it.
Gomtang (Meat Stew) - Basic beef stew, nice balance to the rest of our dishes but was nothing too special.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 32277012Dec 17, 2022
Okay, this place is underrated. I'm not sure why DooRe doesn't have five stars because I absolutely loved everything we had.
After going to Tanaka Farms' Festival of Lights, we were looking for somewhere to get some tasty Korean food. My bestie who lives nearby picked DooRe as the spot, so we headed on over.
We ordered the Braised Spicy Beef Ribs, Stir Fried Rice Cakes, Clam Noodle Soup, and Short Rib Soup. The Braised Spicy Beef Ribs are a HUGE order but man the meat is seasoned so well and is incredibly flavorful without the spice overpowering everything. I also loved that there were little rice cakes that had soaked up all that good sauce as well. I may have preferred these rice cakes over the regular ones, but both were yummy. The Clam Noodle Soup was a hit for the kiddos. The Short Rib Soup was incredibly comforting and so good. There are also glass noodles in the soup that helped to bring everything together.
I enjoyed the barchan as well, and service was friendly. I'm not in the area often, but when I'm back next, I'll definitely be making a stop at DooRe!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 2 - Kelsie L.CA, CA01Mar 9, 2024
This place was terrible. I went here looking for some good Korean food, instead I left with a half empty stomach and a headache from the trashy service.
First of all, my boyfriend and I went inside and the restaurant was two-thirds empty so there weren't a lot of people and the ambiance was pretty dead. Once we went in, the server sat us down and gave us menus and then about ten minutes later she took our order. My boyfriend really enjoyed the side dishes that came out and asked if he could have some more. Typically, korean restaurants would offer more, but they blatantly rejected his request and left. We went about eating our meal, when we found that the spicy beef soup barely had any beef in it so we really just paid for broth. The servers barely came to check on us and were pretty rude. Normally, Korean restaurants don't have outstanding service so I chose to ignore it, but this was not the typical as they also got the order wrong. When we asked for the check, we didn't feel obligated to tip a lot because they were pretty rude. The woman came up to us and demanded 15% tip which was absurd. I would NOT recommend this place at all.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 4448641850Nov 18, 2022
Came here on a Friday night, and there was no wait. The restaurant was quite empty but it seemed like they were busy with delivery orders. We got seated quickly, and our orders were taken quickly. The banchan took a little while to be served, and they were pretty standard (kimchi, macaroni salad, fish cakes, bean sprouts, and some other item I couldn't identify). I ordered the hot stone pot beef bulgolgi bibimbap ($23.99). It came in a large bowl, so portion size was good. There was a good amount of meat, rice, and veggies. The bulgolgi wasn't super tender and was a little dry. The sauce was in the salty side. Overall, my meal was satisfying. My boyfriend got the octopus bibimbap, and he couldn't finish it because it was so spicy.

This is my pick for overall best Korean food in the Irvine area. The service is slow as they are usually understaffed but the ladies here are so sweet. The dolsot bimbimbaps are so good here and are worth ordering. I never get dolsot bimbimbaps at Korean restaurants but theirs are worth it. The dumpling rice cake soup is my favorite that I've tried at a Korean restaurant in OC so far and their spicy sundae soup + spicy gamjatang are the perfect balance of spice and depth of flavor.
